It rarely becomes a holiday in wonderful Andalusia for me, but I like to do a little detour now and then. There is so much to discover here! You probably know that you can ski from October to April just outside Granada in the Sierra Nevada, a fantastic experience just a 2 hour drive from Marbella. But what do you do in the Granada area in the summer - well you hike and enjoy the magnificent nature and swim in all these fantastic rivers. Last weekend we visited such a nice and cozy hotel, La Almunia de Valle. It is incredibly beautiful, with pool, trust bar and the food they offered was absolutely perfect, morning and evening! The summer evenings are absolutely magical here, warm (like 30 degrees), quiet and peaceful - I love it!

We then took the car down to the beautiful Costa Tropical, 1 hour it took to Almunecar, which is charming, vibrant, typically Spanish city, not so exploited and with nice water and swimming. The marina, a little out of town, is so cozy. There we visited a new building that will be really nice and you can walk along the sea into town - contact me for more info because it will be so nice, katja@homenetspain.com

The roads are lined with beautiful avocado and mango crops, they also grow a lot of pears, which was new to me. Incredibly green and nice, even though it has not rained for a very long time.

We had received tips about a beautiful river with several "lagoons" so after a bit of searching we finally found our way to Rio Verde, just outside Otivar. To get in they charge 5 euros / person and car, but it's worth it. Now we arrived relatively late on a Sunday in August and there were a lot of people, so you can take another day, it is enough to recommend, but it was cool and very nice.

We at Homenetspain not only sell homes, we are also here for inspiration and tips, all to make your accommodation wonderful and rich in content.

Andalusia has so much to offer and so do we....
