Last year, the population increased by 9,438 people thanks to the emigration to the Sun Coast and the province of Málaga.

In total there were 26,506 people from abroad who moved to the Sun Coast. 17,519 Spanish citizens moved from other parts of Spain to the province of Málaga.

Of these, 781 were Swedes who are the eighth largest nationality of foreigners who moved here in 2018. Prior to Sweden, Great Britain (3,402), Morocco (2,747), Colombia (1,341), Italy (1,251), Venezuela (1,199), Argentina (893) and Paraguay (819).
